Instead of a fixed value of maxfloats=18 (TeX standard) or 36 (morefloats 1.0b) now the morefloats package 1.0c enables you to get the number of floats you need - whether this number is less than 36 or more (well, between 18 and whatever TeX's memory permits).

Morefloats – Increase the number of simultaneous LaTeX floats
LaTeX can, by default, only cope with 18 outstanding floats; any
more, and you get the error too many unprocessed
floats
. This package releases the limit; TeX itself
imposes limits (which are independent of the help offered by
ε-TeX).
However, if your floats can’t be placed anywhere, extending the number of floats merely delays the arrival of the inevitable error message.
